Effectiveness with

Tension and Migraine Headaches

Biofeedback and neurofeedback are noninvasive approaches that offer real hope for the prevention of headaches and reduction in the need for costly medication, doctor and hospital visits to cope with them.

Biofeedback therapy for headaches involves training the client to regulate blood flow and muscle tension, both of which are causes or triggers of headache pain.

Biofeedback/Neurofeedback has been shown to be particularly effective with children who suffer headaches; and as effective as drugs in preventing headaches. It also offers long-term relief– in a 5 year study, patients reduced medication, doctor and hospital visits, and the frequency of headaches themselves.

Typically 6-20 sessions are needed before the client is able to maintain changes without “feedback” from the equipment.
